People count. Focus on demography statistics

Sigma is a magazine published by Eurostat addressing people interested in European statistics. Each issue deals with a specific statistical theme. This issue concentrates on demography and migration statistics. It focuses on the preparations for the coordinated population censuses to take place across much of Europe in 2011. Sigma also meets experts in demographic research who discuss the economic and social consequences of population projections, as well as the challenges related to migration statistics.
