Thousands of EU officials and citizens signed a petition calling for a suspension of pension rights to former European Commission president José Manuel Barroso for taking a job at Goldman Sachs.

The petition was scheduled to be presented on 12 October 2016 to the top level of EU institutions.

It was the first time EU staff launched such an initiative to defend the European project and to call for more ethics at the highest level of the institutions.
