In an opinion issued on the 3 July 2015 38% of Poles said they would vote for the centre-right opposition grouping of Law and Justice (PiS) and the United Right (ZP), giving it a parliamentary majority. A general election was expected to take place in October 2015 in Poland.

Separately, Open Europe reported that the Greek debt crisis emerged as one of the main debating points in the Polish parliamentary election campaign, with Beata Szydlo, Law and Justice’s candidate for Prime Minister, calling on the 2 July 2015 for Prime Minster Ewa Kopacz to drop her party’s commitment to adopt the euro in Poland.
