Plaid fears Wales may miss out on £8bn rail boost that could electrify line to Swansea

Plaid Cymru argued in January 2012 that Wales was in danger of missing out on European funds which could be used to electrify the Great Western line to Swansea.

The party was convinced that Wales could win a share of a €10bn (£8bn) fund to improve transport networks if the UK Government backed a European Commission project.
