Plan to break up Europe’s power groups buried

Report of discussions at the Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council, Brussels, 15 February 2007, which focused on energy issues. Europe’s energy ministers in effect buried a plan to break up the continent’s biggest power companies, which the European Commission claimed was a vital step towards ending competition abuses in the sector.
