Pledge to cut flow of Brussels red tape

In his budget speech on 16 March 2005, UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown, said that the UK would use its six-month rotating Presidency of the European Union to tackle the flow of new regulations from Brussels and their impact on business.
