PM meets European Roundtable of Industrialists: 30 May 2018

United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May spoke with representatives from the European Roundtable of Industrialists (ERT) in London on the 30 May 2018. She spoke of the Government’s desire to hear views from businesses in the UK and across Europe as the UK prepared to leave the EU. The PM recognised the necessity of providing certainty for businesses.

In response the ERT representatives said that business needed clarity and certainty, because time was running out. Uncertainty caused less investment. They added that a trade deal with the EU must be 'frictionless as with a customs union'.
