Poland seeks to appease EU on shipyards

Poland submitted new restructuring plans for three shipyards in Gdynia, Gdansk and Szczecin on the 26 June 2008 just hours before a midnight deadline, in the hope of staving off demands by the European Commission for the return of state aid which is keeping them afloat.
