The Guardian published a feature on 13 January 2015 on the difficulty for shale gas development to be solidifed in Poland following environmental concerns and protests.

The newspaper followed people in Zurawlow and nearby villages, in which for 400 days, farmers and their families blockaded a proposed Chevron shale drilling site with tractors and agricultural machinery. Eventually, in July 2014, the company abandoned its plans.
