In our study "Market concentration and the Labor Share in Germany," we examine the extent to which this phenomenon has taken place in Germany.
Highly innovative firms are commanding a growing share of the market in several industries. This trend impacts on competition and prices – but it also has an effect on the share of overall income going to labor. This, in turn, can exacerbate income inequality.
