The Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive is due to be transposed into national law by 22 July 2013. The Directive will have a significant impact on firms that run any type of collective investment scheme other than a UCITS (Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities) and provides a number of opportunities and risks.

This open informal consultation, issued in March 2012, highlights and invites initial views on a number of the high level policy decisions that will need to be taken as part of the transposition of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive in the United Kingdom.
