Policy Paper: Rights and obligations of European Union membership

This paper from the United Kingdom government published in April 2016 sets out the main rights and obligations arising from the UK’s membership of the European Union.

It comprises the second and final part of the report that the government published to meet the requirement of section 7(1) of the European Union Referendum Act 2015. The government published the first part, Alternatives to membership: possible models for the United Kingdom outside the European Union, on 2 March 2016.
