Poor French performance points to unclear outlook for eurozone

According to figures released on 12 February 2004 by INSEE, the national statistics institute, the French economy grew only 0.2% in 2003, the worst performance in 10 years. Germany's economy grew just 0.2% in the final three months of 2003. The eurozone economy as a whole is likely to have grown 0.3 - 0.4% in the fourth quarter of 2003.
