European Economy Institutional Papers are important reports and communications from the European Commission to the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament on the economy and economic developments. Post-programme surveillance (PPS) aims at a broad monitoring of economic, fiscal and financial conditions with a view to assessing the repayment capacity of a country having received financial assistance. Staff from the European Commission (EC), in liaison with the European Central Bank (ECB), undertook the fifth post-programme surveillance (PPS) mission to Portugal between 29 November and 7 December 2016. This visit also served as specific monitoring in the framework of the EU Macroeconomic Imbalance Procedure (MIP). |
