The Maritime Transport Co-ordination Platform (MTCP), funded under the 6th Community Research Framework Programme, has analysed, for the purposes of setting up motorways of the sea in the Baltic, Atlantic and Mediterranean corridors, the potential for Motorways of the sea. The study gives a first rough indication of possible services and infrastructures and modal shift from road transport. The figures rely on forecast and modelling, and take traffic flows in the year 2003 as their basis. |
