Powerful but Divided: The EU Parliamentarians Who Influence Digital and Telecommunication Policy

The digital environment is influencing everyone’s daily lives, be it at home or at work and the EU has made a priority from regulating it. But who influences the digital policy and how? In this study VoteWatch Europe (VWE) show which EU politicians actually shape EU’s digital policy and what their actual views are.

VWE measured how much influence each Member of the European Parliament (MEP) exerts on the basis of key parliamentary activities and looked on how individual MEPs are actually voting on key decisions, thus filtering out claims and rumours.

This report also shows that some nationalities punch way above their weight, while others are substantially underrepresented.
