Press Release: 2005 budget: additional proposals for pre-accession aid to Croatia, support to the Turkish-Cypriot community, and the Northern Ireland Peace Process

In the months since May 2004, when the European Commission had launched the draft budget for 2005, the Council had taken several decisions requiring additional expenditure for 2005. The Commission adopted the necessary amendments to the Budget proposals for 2005 on 13 October 2004: € 114 m to encourage the economic development of the Turkish Cypriot Community; € 105 m pre-accession aid to Croatia; € 60 m to extend the Peace programme for Northern Ireland and the border areas in Ireland.
