Press Release: 5,955 Italian textile workers to get help from EU Globalisation Fund

The European Commission approved four applications from Italy for assistance under the European Globalisation adjustment Fund (EGF). The Commission will now make a proposal to the European Parliament and the Council to mobilise the budgetary resources. The funding will help almost 6,000 workers in the textiles sector back into employment. The applications – for a total of €35,158,075 – concern workers made redundant in a large number of mainly small enterprises in four different Italian regions: Sardinia, Piedmont, Lombardy and Tuscany.
