Maive Rute from Estonia was appointed as the new European Commission SME Envoy, 13 June 2005. Following on from Finnish national Timo Summa, she was to be the Commission's interlocutor for the SME community and their representative inside the Commission. Among her top priorities was the better co-ordination of SME issues within the Commission, fostering exchange of successful practices under the European Charter for Small Enterprises, the Entrepreneurial Action Plan and giving SMEs better access to EU programmes. |
