Press Release: Acceding countries take important step forward in the fight against social exclusion

On 18 December 2003 the ten future Member States and the European Commission jointly signed Memoranda setting out the social situation and key challenges to be faced in combating social exclusion in these countries. However, the partner and contact organisations of the European networks within most of the acceding countries report an almost total lack of involvement in the process of developing the Memoranda.
