The European Commission decided on 20 October 2004 to authorise French State aid to the airline Air Caraïbes, to equip two Airbus A 330-200 it is leasing to commence air services between the two French overseas departments in the Caribbean and mainland France. The aid was part of a general tax scheme to encourage investment in the French overseas departments. It would allow Air Caraïbes to reduce the cost of the capital required to commence the new services. |
