The Slovak authorities informed the European Commission of two confirmed cases of avian influenza virus H5 in wild birds, one tested in Bratislava city and one in Gabcikovo, district of Dunajska. Samples were to be sent to the Community Reference Laboratory for avian influenza in Weybridge for further tests to determine if this was the H5N1 virus. |
