The European Commission has decided on a report and proposals to increase participation in EU labour markets. The report says that the EU must create 20 million new jobs of which 11-12 million for women and 5 million for older workers if it is to hit the Lisbon and Stockholm targets for employment by 2010. The report, designed to be a joint Council and Commission effort, will now go forward to the Barcelona summit. |
