Press Release: Brown: Outward-looking EU stands to gain EUR100 billion through transatlantic trade liberalisation

Two studies published on 29 May 2003, show that Britain, Europe and the US stand to gain substantially from transatlantic trade liberalisation. The reports, commissioned jointly by the UK Treasury and the Dutch Ministry of Finance, are entitled 'Enhancing Economic Cooperation between the EU and the Americas: An Economic Assessment', prepared by the Centre for Economic Policy Research, and 'The Political Economy of the Transatlantic Partnership' by the European University Institute.
