Press Release: Brussels conference for local and regional executives brings EU closer to the people

More than 200 local and regional officers responsible for international affairs met for the first time in Brussels on 14-15 October 2004 to exchange experiences and analyse their role in concrete terms. Under the heading 'from similar problems to different solutions', the conference aimed to give its participants a better understanding of their common challenges and the impact EU policy has on local and regional authorities.
