Press Release: Children in action for women’s rights: drawing exhibition at International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

Almost 30,000 children, aged between 8 and 10, from all corners of the globe participated in a drawing competition on the theme of gender equality, launched for the second year running by the European Commission on 8 March 2008, on the occasion of the Women's International Day. The drawings of the finalists that censured the violence against women will be exhibited in Brussels from 26 November to 18 December 2008.
