The final budget accounts for 2001 reveal a surplus of €15 billion. On a proposal from Budget Commissioner Michaele Schreyer the European Commission adopted on 5 June 2002 a preliminary draft amending budget 3/2002 entering the final amount of this surplus in the 2002 budget. |
