On 27 March 2001 the European Commission adopted its annual report on the implementation in 2000 of the Steel Aid Code. The Commission decided on 17 cases, five of which were approved without instigating the formal investigation procedure, eight were the subject of final decisions and the other four of a decision to initiate proceedings. The most problematic cases were those regarding investment aid for environmental protection. |
