Press Release: Commission approves compensation for providing public services to shipping companies serving the small Italian islands

The European Commission has decided to approve the grants which the region of Sicily intends to give to two shipping companies operating public service routes between Sicily and the small Italian islands. Uscita Lines is to receive aid of €1.25 million and Navigazione Generale Italiana €0.25 million. The two companies have been awarded the public service contracts for the routes between Sicily and the small Italian islands.
