Press Release: Commission approves risk capital scheme for small and medium sized enterprises in Northern Ireland

The European Commission on 20 October 2004 a scheme intended to promote risk capital financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Northern Ireland. The scheme built upon a similar umbrella scheme for risk capital financing to SMEs in the United Kingdom, which had also been approved by the Commission in 2003. The scheme would help SMEs in Northern Ireland bridge the financing gap with other UK regions.
