Press Release: Commission authorises state aids granted by Italy for the modernisation of the livestock sector

The European Commission on 5 July 2005 approved aid for a total amount of €54.30 million granted by Italy at the end of the 1990's for the rationalisation and restructuring of the beef sector. The Commission also concluded that certain interventions by FINAGRA, a holding company majority controlled by the Italian state, were not to be considered state aid or were compatible aids.
