The European Commission has approved the acquisition of the axle production business ('APB') of the Volvo Group by the American company ArvinMeritor ('ARM'), a global manufacturer of automotive parts, 4 October 2004. The Commission's investigation has shown that the transaction will have no significant impact on competitive conditions in view of the structure of the axle market in Europe.
