Press Release: Commission launches enquiry into the compensation paid by the Greek Agricultural Insurance Organisation (ELGA) in 2008 and 2009

The Commission has decided to launch a formal investigation procedure regarding compensation payments made by the Greek Agricultural Insurance Organisation (ELGA) to producers in 2008 and 2009. The Commission doubts whether the aid is compatible with the common market. The launch of the formal procedure will enable the Commission to gather all the information it needs to evaluate the aid and allow interested parties to submit comments.
