The European Commission today proposed to provide Greece with €2.9 million of financial assistance from the EU Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF). The money, requested by the Greek authorities, would be used to help 642 workers made redundant by ALDI to find new jobs. The proposal now goes to the European Parliament and the EU's Council of Ministers for approval. |
