Press Release: Commission spring economic forecasts 2006-2007: growth rebounds

The European Commission’s on 8 May 2006 published its spring economic forecasts for 2006-07. The forecast put economic growth at 2.3% in the EU and 2.1% in the euro area, i.e. around ? of a percentage point (pp) above the previous year’s growth and 0.2 pp higher than forecast six months earlier. In 2007, growth was projected to be slightly lower at 2.2% in the EU and 1.8% in the euro area.
