The European Commissioner for Employment and Social Affairs, Anna Diamantopoulou, and the European Commissioner for Enterprise and Information Society, Erkki Liikanen, presented a Green Paper on promoting a European framework for Corporate Social Responsibility on 18 July 2001. The paper takes up the 'triple bottom line' concept, whereby companies voluntarily take on board social and environmental concerns besides their economic ones. |
