The European Commission welcomed the vote on 8 June 2005 by the European Parliament on the Financial Framework 2007-13. The Commission held that by approving the report by Reimer Böge MEP, the Parliament had demonstrated a responsible attitude toward the Union's finances. The report was to form the basis of Parliament's position in the coming negotiations on an Inter-Institutional Agreement, held between the EU's three main institutions, to fix the Financial Framework.
