Press Release: Commission welcomes deal to improve consumer protection for insurance products

The European Commission welcomed on 01 July 2015 the agreement between the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament on a proposal for a revised Directive on insurance sales, known as the Insurance Distribution Directive.

These new rules aim at improving the way insurance products are sold and update a Directive from 2002, called Insurance Mediation Directive (IMD).
