Press Release: Commission welcomes European Parliament vote for new tools for mobility and quality in vocational education and training

The European Commission welcomed the vote at the European Parliament on 18 December, 2008, which opened the way for the introduction of two new European instruments to facilitate mobility and improve quality in vocational education and training. The European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET) will help learners gain recognition of what they have achieved in different countries or learning environments. The European Quality Assurance Reference Framework (EQARF) will promote better vocational education and training by providing authorities with common tools for the management of quality.
