Press Release: Commissioner Danuta Hübner applauds success of EU-backed smart investment in UK’s East Midlands

Danuta Hübner, European Commissioner for Regional Policy, is visiting the UK's East Midlands on 27 and 28 April to see flagship projects which have received financial support through the EU's Cohesion Policy. The Commissioner will meet Bryan Jackson, chairman of the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA), together with representatives of local authorities, businesses and other partners involved in the delivery of European funds. Since 2000, EU investment in the East Midlands has created 15,000 jobs and supported 13,000 small and medium sized companies.
