Press Release: Commissioner Fischler: reinforcing co-operation between the EU and Norway to preserve fish stocks

Franz Fischler, the European Commissioner responsible for Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries met with Norwegian Minister for Fisheries, Mr Otto Gregussen, on 10.5.01 in Bergen. Mr Fischler welcomed the close co-operation between the EU and Norway in the management of joint stocks, particularly in the recovery plan that the two parties are jointly putting in place to help the rebuilding of the depleted stock of cod in the North Sea.
