Press Release: Commissioner Hübner presents new initiatives for financing investment for growth and jobs in EU Member States and regions

Report from a major conference on the theme of 'Financing Growth and Cohesion in the Enlarged EU'. The conference, taking place in Brussels on 24 November 2005, was organised by Danuta Hübner, Commissioner responsible for Regional Policy, in co-operation with the European Union Presidency and the international financial institutions (European Investment Bank, Council of Europe Development Bank and the European Banks for Reconstruction and Development). It brought together more than 500 representatives from Member States, candidate countries and regions, as well as from the banking, finance and business sectors. Commissioner Hübner unveiled a fresh initiative in the field of urban renewal and updated the participants on the recent launched initiatives for the reform of cohesion policy, JASPERS and JEREMIE
