Press Release: Commissioner Samecki welcomes major contribution of EU investment in support of the economic development of Ceuta and Melilla

Paweł Samecki , European Commissioner responsible for Regional Policy, will visit the Spanish autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla from 9 to 11 September. The two cities, strategically important and marking the border between EU territory and North Africa, have benefited from major support from the European Cohesion Policy since the accession of Spain to the EU in 1986. The Commissioner will visit a selection of projects which highlight the importance of Europe's contribution to their economic development.
