Press Release: Conclusion of the Public Hearing on the European Public Prosecutor

A wide ranging and detailed public hearing on the protection of the financial interests of the European Union and the establishment of a European Public Prosecutor concluded in Brussels on 17 September 2002. The Hearing was organised to allow representatives of Member States, European Institutions, interested professional groups in the area of fraud investigation and the administration of justice as well as representatives of civil society (NGOs etc.) to voice their opinions on the idea of establishing a European Public Prosecutor.
