Following the resignation of Alenka Bratušek as Vice President designate of the next European Commission and the designation of Violeta Bulc by the Slovenian government, the Council of the European Union, by common accord with Jean-Claude Juncker, President-elect of the Commission, adopted a new list of persons for appointment as members of the Commission until 31 October 2019. This decision, which was adopted on the 15 October 2014 by written procedure, will be forwarded to the European Parliament. The additional European Parliament confirmatory hearings for Maroš Šefčovič (Slovakia) and Violeta Bulc (Slovenian) took place in Strasbourg on the 20 October 2014. Reports suggested both performed well. |
