Press Release: Council and European Parliament reach a provisional agreement on a mechanism for monitoring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions

The Permanent Representatives Committee endorsed today (21.12.2012) the compromise proposal agreed between the Presidency of the Council and the European Parliament regarding the regulation on a mechanism for monitoring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions and for reporting other information at national and Union level relevant to climate change, which will replace the current monitoring mechanism established under decision 280/2004/EC.
