There are approximately 122 million marriages in the EU, about 16 million (13%) are assumed to be international. The regulation the Council adopted on 20 December 2010 will allow a Hungarian couple living in Rome or a French-German couple living in Madrid to follow clear rules on how to seek divorce or legal separation in 14 EU member states. |
