Press Release: Declaration by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union on the decision by the Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court to investigate the 2007-2008 post-election violence in Kenya

The EU takes note of the ICC's decision to investigate the post-election violence in Kenya. The EU recalls the Government's public commitments made on several instances to cooperate with the ICC. The EU is a staunch supporter of the ICC as a valuable instrument of the international community to combat impunity for the most serious crimes of concern to the international community as a whole.
