Press Release: Empower – the European Civil Society Forum to make recommendations on how to connect better the European citizens with the European Union

On 9 and 10 November 2006, over 300 representatives of civil society from across the EU, and Bulgaria and Romania, will meet in Bergamo (Italy) to discuss what measures should be adopted on the European level as a follow-up to the European Commission White Paper on Communication Policy. After the Conference “Understanding European Public Opinion” in Madrid on 27 October, it will be the second stakeholder forum in the framework of consultation of the White Paper. European Commission Vice-President Margot Wallström, responsible for Institutional Relations and Communication Strategy, will address the conference.
