Press Release: EMSA takes a look at ‘places of refuge’

The European Maritime Safety Agency held a workshop on 4-5 March 2004 in Brussels to discuss the issue of “places of refuge”. The identification of these safe havens is fundamental to ensure that ships in distress in EU waters are dealt with more effectively in the future, thereby minimising the effect of maritime disasters.
